Seeing is Believing Community Bus Tour

Board the bus to see the impact for yourself! The Seeing is Believing Community Bus Tour provides Employee Campaign Coordinators, volunteers, business owners, media and local politicians with an opportunity to see first-hand how their donations are making a difference in our community. This is a deeply motivating and eye-opening experience for the participants, who visit local United Way-funded Community Partner agencies to meet the front-line workers and recipients of services. Most importantly, participants learn how easy it is to LIVE UNITED through giving, advocating and volunteering, and feel truly connected to their community as they achieve positive impact.

"Before the bus tour I was probably a bit of a skeptic as to the real needs of some people, one of those cynics who said under their breath - get a job and everything will be fine. The bus tour enlightened me dramatically. To meet and chat with someone who is relying on subsidy because of a physical, emotional, dependent or family issue not only made me appreciative for my own well-being but showed me that it's not only about the financial part. The workers and volunteers in the different facilities we visited were truly caring, committed people who brought stability and normalcy to the lives of the people they work with. Last year's Campaign was One Plus You and this year is Make Hope Real. Looking back to the bus tour, meeting the people, the facility workers and volunteers and hearing their stories made me realize it really is One Plus You and it has put a definite purpose to my contribution to Make Hope Real."
