United Way Child Safety Initiative Photo Gallery 2018

August 29, 2018 – United Way Central & South Okanagan/Similkameen (CSO) and United Way North Okanagan Columbia Shuswap (NOCS) teamed up to deliver car seats to families in need up and down the valley yesterday. In partnership with Central Okanagan Foundation, Kelowna General Hospital Foundation and with amazing support from corporate sponsor, Kal Tire and the addition of Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation, the Child Safety Initiative expanded to the North Okanagan and Shuswap region this year.

In total, 114 car seats were delivered to 13 communities and will be distributed to approved families by 16 distribution partner agencies.

In addition to Kal Tire’s involvement, the British Columbia Dragoons volunteered this year to help with distribution in the Kelowna area using their TAP-V armoured vehicle. This was quite the spectacle and was enjoyed by the kids and staff at the Central Okanagan Family Hub and KCR – Community Services.
