Outdoor Play: Just Imagine!

As well, join us to hear Dr. Beverlie Dietze speak about sparking children’s curiosity in outdoor play and how parents and caregivers play a key role in encouraging the investigation and exploration of their world outside.

This presentation will provide practical ideas for making outdoor play magical in the winter and will highlight how math, science, language, physical literacy, and dramatic play is inherent in winter play. The more they run, jump, slide, climb and experiment with rain, snow, ice, and frost, the more opportunities they have to embrace the beauty of the season. Outdoor play in the winter inspires children to become explorers and discovers of many things such as animal tracks, what makes crunching sounds, and how snowflakes and snow feel on mittens and tongues. Children’s outdoor play in winter truly is magical.
