Why Donate to United Way

“Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.” -William James

Your donation stays in the community where you live!

Donating $5 per paycheque or $130 per year provides:

  • A car seat for a newborn whose parents cannot afford one to take them home from the hospital

Donating $10 per paycheque or $260 per year provides:

  • 50 home delivered meals, allowing someone to stay in their home
  • 1 day of counselling and support for someone with a brain injury

Leadership Program

United Way Leaders help set the standard of caring for our entire community and inspire others to GIVE, ADVOCATE and VOLUNTEER. Your leadership gift of $1000 or more per year, combined with other local, result-driven programs and initiatives, is vital to creating the kind of community we are all proud to call home.

A leadership gift of $1000 per year or $20 per week or just $2.75 per day could:

  • Save 20 lives or prevent 20 brain injuries by providing bicycle helmets to people who cannot afford them.
  • Provide 200 hot, nutritious meals in supportive housing for people experiencing mental illness.
  • Give 40 hours of training, resources and outreach support to child care providers in our community.
  • Provide health and safety products for 10 men in recovery from substance abuse for 1 year.
  • Provide 37 hours of social work services to seniors with chronic health conditions who need help with housing related issues.
