United Way is powered by volunteers. One of the reasons that United Way can impact so many lives is that we have so many community members generously donating their time to work with us. By having volunteers sit on the Board of Directors, engage in the Community Investment application process (Community Impact teams), run workplace campaigns, and assist at special events, United Way CSO is able to keep costs low and boost fundraising capacity.

There are multiple ways to get involved if you are looking to volunteer!

Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors is a group of professionals and leaders within the community who volunteer their time to govern United Way CSO. They contribute their unique insight and knowledge to ensure that the United Way is run responsibly and fulfills its mission.

Our Current Board

GenNext Board of Directors

Under the umbrella of the United Way, GenNext works to encourage young professionals in their 20s and 30s to give back to their community. Their Board of Directors is made up of emerging leaders who are passionate about volunteerism and furthering the United Way’s mission.

Community Impact Teams

The United Way’s process of allocating funds to local non-profits is collaborative and entirely volunteer-driven. Volunteers review grant applications, make site visits to each local agency, and participate in meetings during which charity representatives present their application and explain what it will do with the funding. The volunteers then form recommendations to our volunteer Board of Directors with the goal of ensuring that United Way invests donor dollars to best meet the needs of our community.
