Day of Caring 2017-06-15T00:52:01+00:00

The Pushor Mitchell United Way Day of Caring® is a unique opportunity for employee, student or other volunteer groups to support local non-profit organizations by completing a project that the non-profit might not otherwise have the manpower or resources for.

A Day of Caring is…

Annual Spring Day of Caring

The Spring Day of Caring is a community-wide event where multiple teams of volunteers help out at local agencies in the Central or South Okanagan.

Custom Days of Caring

Throughout the year, workplaces and volunteer groups approach United Way CSO to get matched with projects at non-profit agencies. United Way staff then work with both parties to facilitate the planning and the event itself.

“Our students are eager to connect with their community. United Way’s Day of Caring provides them with a wonderful opportunity to give back, while having a ton of fun.”

– Phil Bond, Community Service Learning Program, UBCO

Typical Day of Caring Tasks

  • Spring/fall cleaning, yard work, or minor repairs
  • Sorting donations of clothing, food, furniture or household goods
  • Preparing resource kits or hampers
  • Preparing food

Proudly sponsored by

“Not only is Pushor Mitchell proud to sponsor the United Way Day of Caring, it is an amazing opportunity for us to close our office, get involved and see firsthand the significant impact United Way has in our community.”

-Terry Edwards, Chief Operating Officer, Pushor Mitchell LLP
